You signed up to hear about What Would Tequila Do. It launched. It's out in the world. Thank you for being part of that.
Now I want to tell you what I'm doing next - and give you the chance to decide if you want to come along.
This newsletter is shifting. Not disappearing. Shifting.
Going forward it's going to be about the writing. The process, the fragments, the stories that don't fit anywhere else. Bi-weekly. No fluff. No marketing. Just the work.
The next book is fiction. It's called He Walks With The Dead.
It's set in an unnamed city torn apart by war. Inspector Khaled investigates violent deaths in a place where violence has become ordinary. But Khaled carries something no one else does - the victims stay with him. Not as memories. As presence. Each one walks beside him until he finds out what happened to them.
It's a book about what war does to the people living inside it. Not the politics. Not the strategy. The people.
I've been working on it for two years. I was at the library yesterday with a red pen. It's getting close.
If that sounds like something you want to follow - stay. I'm glad to have you.
If you signed up for the business and marketing content and this isn't your world - no hard feelings. Unsubscribe link is below. I'd rather have the right readers than more of them.
More soon.
Henk
